How to Enable Phishing and Malware Protection – Google Chrome

Google Chrome gets bundled up with a lot of features that helps to protect your computer from threats and scams while browsing the Internet. This feature is known as Phishing and Malware Protection. It employs a technology that defends the system against the phishing and malware damage. The Google Chrome even adds extra layer of protection by blocking the programs against the web pages that tries to download and execute harmful files on your computer. Moreover it guards the computer against illegal software which monitors your web browsing habits or steals sensitive data from your system.


Chrome is the only browser so far that issues advanced warning if the web site that you are trying to open is compromised or being used as an attack page. Thus once you see the Google Chrome web page warning which is better to leave the web site in order to avoid virus infection.

In order to activate the Phishing and Malware Protection and enables you to Safe Browsing feature and follow these procedures.

1. Firstly you need to open Google Chrome Internet browser.
2. Then you need to look for the 3-bars icon then customize and control the Google Chrome on the upper right customized and customized and control Google Chrome on your upper right corner of the browser and then click on it.
3.It displays various options that features and settings which may access to adjust the browser. Then click on the Settings from the drop-down list.
4. This will open the Google Chrome Settings page. This page contains all the preferences and configuration for the browser. Then from the left panel displays the area or category that can see the individual items on the right panel.
5. From the left panel, you need to click on Settings. It displays list of contents on the left panel.
6. Then proceed to the area with label Privacy. Then this area is hidden, you just need to click on the Show advanced settings… to expand. Items presently active are marked them a check. Then put a check mark on “Enable phishing and malware protection” and enable this feature.
7. Once you enable the changes and then close the current tab and you may now restart the Google Chrome.
In order to disable Phishing andMalware Protection and go through the same process and then remove the check mark on this specific item.
